The Haunting
The building that houses the Marriott Syracuse Downtown was built as a hotel in 1924, with a new wing—the Hilton Tower, built in 1980. It was a favorable party scene in its early days, considered the place to be seen and see others. However, during one late-night escapade at the start of the New Year there was a fatal elevator mishap that may be the reason for the hauntings of today...
Partygoers celebrated in the Persian Terrace all night, but as they returned to their rooms the elevator stalled between the 10th and 11th floors of the Hilton Tower complex. Riders pried the doors open to jump to the 10th floor, but one man slipped and fell into the elevator shaft, to his death.
Similar elevator incidents have taken place over the years—could it be the man's spirit who still lingers there? Or perhaps another spirit who has chosen the hotel as their final resting place.
