The Haunting

The mission of the Fulton County Historical Society (FCHS) is to acquire, preserve and promote the history of Fulton County, NY. Headquartered inside the old Kingsboro School, constructed in 1900 on the site of the original Kingsboro Academy, the museum’s exhibits explore the history of the community, from industry to sports to military and more. The FCHS collection consists of thousands of artifacts that span from the earliest years of the county through 2018. But, many have experienced something else within the museum’s walls... perhaps stemming from the artifacts, or the old jail cell, or something else entirely.

Paranormal teams from around the state have conducted investigations in the building. They’ve captured some pretty spectacular EVP evidence and shared their findings in public presentations. The museum’s volunteers and staff have also had their fair share of first-hand experiences, from already closed doors slamming shut to the model train operating on its own accord. With so many artifacts, and in a building that was full of energetic students for nearly a century, it’s no wonder that there still may be some spirits lingering.
