The Greater Binghamton area has a proud community and rich industrial history—but hiding in the shadows, creeping around the corners, are spookier tales to be told. Stay the night at one of two haunted inns, with ghosts who often present themselves to overnight guests. Then visit one (or all) of Binghamton’s historic sites and museums, each with a past just waiting to be uncovered…
Start your getaway with a stay at one of these haunted inns:
1867 Parkview Inn | Owego, NY
Book a room or guided tour, dine or investigate the paranormal at this historic inn and see what signs of activity you can uncover. Evidence supports the legend of a small girl perishing in a fire sometime in the inn’s 150-year-old past. Could she be one of the spirits walking among the living today?
Fainting Goat Island Inn | Nichols, NY
Voted the #2 best haunted hotel in the U.S. by readers of USA TODAY, Fainting Goat Island Inn mixes charm and beauty with chilling tales and first-hand accounts of the paranormal. It’s the perfect place to enjoy an overnight stay or participate in one of the hotel’s hunts or haunted tours—both ghosts and goats will be ready to greet you.
Visit these nearby locations for a guided tour or seek out the spirits on a ghost hunt:
The Historic Bundy House | Binghamton, NY
Built in 1892 as a residential home, the Historic Bundy House has served time as a boarding home, office, print shop, and now museum. Take a ghost tour or grab your gear for a paranormal investigation. The home is so haunted that several paranormal-themed books—including a local text specifically about the Bundy House—detail the stories found here.
Phelps Mansion Museum | Binghamton, NY
Take a guided tour of one of Binghamton’s most historic homes and learn what makes it a hunting ground for ghosts. Visitors have reported strange occurrences across all three floors, including ghostly apparitions, items moving on their own and spooky sounds that can’t be explained. Group paranormal investigations may be accommodated upon request.
Roberson Mansion | Binghamton, NY
The Roberson Mansion was built for Alonzo and Margaret in the early 1900s before it was gifted to the community to be made into an educational center upon their passing. The Roberson name lives in Binghamton… and the Roberson’s spirits might, as well. Take a self-guided tour of the mansion year-round. Guided ghost tours are offered in October.

I have a iPhone Live Photo of what looks and sounds to be an apparition in the salon down the hallway from the second floor ballroom overlook area. I’m happy to share it upon request.
I've felt "energy" surround me in the Bundy House as well as throughout the Mansion.
I especially felt a wave of energy regarding a time (era) change walking through the doorway from the Mansion to the rest of Roberson.
