Some of the eeriest yet most beautiful of the Irish and Scottish ballads are addressed to supernatural subjects: ghosts, witches, curses, goblins, wizards, enchanters, sacred sites, and sacred times (like Halloween!) – and never forget the fairy-folk. Many of these ballads have been recorded and performed by contemporary musicians. Supernatural Ballad features brief introductions to the general subjects of each upcoming ballad, then an enjoyment of recorded music, as many songs as we can fit into the time given. We warn you: A couple of these are rockers! We'd like to add a little diversity and invite a musician or two onstage at the event, too.
