The Historic Bundy House 54
Binghamton, NY / 607-772-9179
The Historic Bundy House, built in 1892 for
Harlow and Julia Bundy and their kin, harbors a
rich tapestry of history. From its early days of family
habitation to the final resident, Elizabeth Hopton,
who departed in 1942, the house has weathered
years of vacancy and various incarnations—
a boarding house, offices, and a printing shop—
until its restoration in 2002 as a museum. Today,
it beckons paranormal enthusiasts, drawn by its
intriguing past, inviting the public to join in
investigations and tours, delving into the mysteries
that linger within its hallowed halls.
Phelps Mansion Museum 53
Binghamton, NY / 607-722-4873
The Phelps Mansion, built in 1870 for Sherman D. Phelps, former
Mayor of Binghamton, hides a chilling secret. Following the tragic
demise of every family member by 1882, spectral figures in period garb
haunt its corridors, watching from afar. A silent clock tolls inexplicably,
objects move unaided, and phantom footsteps echo through deserted
halls. Is it Sherman's ghost protecting his home, or do darker forces
linger within, shaping its eerie fate? Group paranormal investigations
may be accommodated upon request.
Roberson Mansion 52
Binghamton, NY / 607-772-0660
Under the wavering glow of lanterns, explore the chilling legends of the
Roberson Mansion, where the spirits of former residents may yet roam.
Built in 1907 by Alonzo and Margaret Roberson, the mansion defied
expectations by becoming a community education center, a testament to
Alonzo's generosity. Recent tales tell of late-night decorators encountering
mysterious sounds, perhaps the lingering presence of Alonzo himself,
signaling his desire for solitude even beyond the grave. Take a self-guided
tour, year-round. Guided ghost tours are offered in October.
