Utica, NY 13502
Ground was broken in April 1847 for what was originally known as The Utica Globe Mill. On Aug 1, 1855 a new company known as The Utica Woolen Mills was created. In September of 1871, a fire destroyed the entire mill with all its machinery and contents. Larger and improved buildings were completed in 1873. Mill operations ceased in 1916. The buildings became the first home of SUNY IT. Today it’s home to The Shoppes and Utica Brews.
Visit with Marcus Zwierecki, resident Paranormal Investigator and co-author of Ghost Hunting the Mohawk Valley. Shoppes at the Finish Line is haunted by numerous ghosts including a young boy and an older gentleman who does not like going up to the third floor. Some people even claim to feel an unseen force preventing them from climbing up to the third level. Other reports include shadowy apparitions and hearing furniture move on the second floor when no one is upstairs.
