Utica, NY 13502
Ground was broken in April 1847 for what was originally known as The Utica Globe Mill. On Aug 1, 1855 a new company known as The Utica Woolen Mills was created. In September of 1871, a fire destroyed the entire mill with all its machinery and contents. Larger and improved buildings were completed in 1873. Mill operations ceased in 1916. The buildings became the first home of SUNY IT. Today it’s home to The Shoppes and Utica Brews. Visit with Marcus Zwierecki, resident Paranormal Investigator and co-author of Ghost Hunting the Mohawk Valley.
