Mystery surrounds the site at Bannerman Island, built by Frank Bannerman VI in the early 1900s to house his collection of military artifacts. Now a majestic ruin along the banks of the Hudson River, the island is said to be haunted by Native Americans and Dutch colonial settlers.

Open for guided tours via The Estuary Steward on weekends. Start from Torches Landing at Newburgh Waterfront at 11 a.m. and from The Beacon Institute Dock on Beacon Waterfront at 12:30 p.m. Special guided ghost tours available by calling 845-831-6346.
